I have been a certified pschodramatist for over 35 years, having trained primarily with Meg Givnish & Gerry Tremblay at the Horsham Academy of Psychodrama & the Moreno Institute. I am also proud to have been a founding member of Problem Solving Theater. The bulk of my work as a psychodramatist has been with women\'s issues, eating disorders, substance abuse, dissociative disorders & trauma. I cut my psychodramatic teeth at the Horsham Clinic & as a consultant at the Renfrew Center. With those experiences & the impeccable mentoring of Meg Givnish, I went on to become, first, the Coordinator of a Creative Arts Department & then the Director of a Psychodrama Department-- both within psychiatric hospital settings. With the growth of Managed Care & a new direction in the treatment of behavioral health issues, I also took another path. I expanded my role as the Primary Therapist on a Women\'s Unit & then chose to work in the assessment center, admitting patients, providing support & putting a compassionate face to what can be a difficult life experience. My work also took me to down yet another path: I became a Certified Employee Assistance Professional 15 years ago and worked in that capacity for 10 years. I started providing telephonic consultations & then took on the role of Customer Recovery Coordinator, investigating complaints & concerns by interfacing with internal & external customers. The goal was to ensure client satisfaction & excellent customer service. I have also used these skills in my a recent role working with a Health Care Professionals Program, providing support, group and individual counseling for impaired professionals struggling with addiction and co-occurring issues. Most importantly, I have rediscovered my first love, returning to the stage & my acting. As an undergraduate theater major at Illinois State University, I found my spontaneity and tapped into my infinite number of roles. This experience was a wonderful foundation for all those roles I have played since leaving Chicago in 1980.
