A practitioner of Playback Theatre as well as psychodrama, Gregory was a member of D.C. Playback Theater from 1994 to 1998. He formed Positive Image Performance Project (PIPP), a Playback Theatre company comprised of African American, same gender loving men who were HIV positive. Eventually expanding to include women and focusing on a range of physical and mental health issues of African Americans. PIPP performed at retreats, hospitals, conferences, homeless shelters and day programs in the DC Metropolitan area. Gregory received a Masters of Arts in Education and Human Development with a major in rehabilitation counseling in 2001 from George Washington University and went on to study in the psychodrama training unit at St. Elizabeths Hospital. In 2002 he co-lead with Jo Salas, a workshop at the School for Playback Theatre on the Campus of Vassar College on the use of Negro spirituals in eliciting personal stories. He achieved Clinical Practitioner of Psychodrama status in 2005 and is currently a member of Synergy in Action: a Playback Theatre Company, under the leadership of Kimberly Ratteley.
