Personal Growth/Adult Education
Prior to becoming a CP , my education( BA in Government from Smith College), work and activities in Rochester, New York were in the field of government, politics and training in dispute settlement methods of negotiation mediation and arbitration using role methodologies. This led to participation in Psychodrama personal group work with Karen McNamara, TEP, at The Finger Lakes Psychodrama Center following which I received an MA in Expressive Therapies from Lesley University Graduate School and continued psychodrama training with my Primary Trainer, Peter Rowan, TEP , my psychodrama professor at Lesley. My internships were in state hospitals and my long time work ( 13 years) was in a psychiatric day treatment program as a multipurpose staff member, and leader of psychodrama, expressive therapy , women's groups, assertiveness, and energetics groups . Special focus was on the treatment of survivors of complex early childhood physical and sexual abuse which I continued after my official retirement with activity in professional associations (New England Society for the Treatment of Trauma and Dissociation). I now have a limited private practice and continue to participate in the New England Chapter of ASGPP.
