Nien-Hwa Lai, Ph.D., T.E.P. is a Licensed and Certified Counseling Psychologist in Taiwan, and is currently a professor in the Department of Psychology and Counseling at National Taipei University of Education. It is worth noting that she embraces psychodrama and art therapy with a Bachelor degree in Visual Art. She is also known for her creativity, spontaneity, compassion, passion for psychodrama and art therapy, and the love to live a holistic life.
Nien-Hwa is also a certified team leader and trainer in the Therapeutic Spiral Model of psychodrama. She runs a weekly workshop offering psychodrama and art therapy for trauma survivors and domestically abused women. Additionally, she has a heart for marginalized families in our society, especially those with disabled members or suicide issues, and devotes herself to promote community and social engagement by applying Morenian methods in educational events for both family members and the general public.
She is one of the founding members of Taiwan Association of Psychodrama(TAP), which is officially established on March 27th, 2010. She was a pre-president of TAP in 2014-2016. In recent years, she also works closely with many psychodramtists from China, across the Taiwan Strait. China Association of Psychodrama invited Nien-Hwa to be their consultant to help training and expanding psychodrama in China.
Due to the total absence of any resident TEP in Taiwan, it has not been at all easy to receive regular psychodrama training here. For the great support provided regardless, Nien-Hwa is immensely grateful to her trainers, Pam Remer, Rory Remer, Kate Hudgins, Dorothy Satten, Mort Satten, Shu Gong, NingShine Kung, her best friend Payyi Lin, as well as all her trainees. All of these people have taught her not only professionally but also in her personal growth.
