The Reverend Doctor Sammis is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Traumatologist, Pastoral Counselor, Trainer, Educator, Practioner of Psychodrama and an Ordained United Methodist Minister. He received his BA, M.DIv, and D.Min from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He spent 20 years in the service of the country as a U.S. Army Chaplain. Following retirement he spent 10 years as the Director for Chaplaincy Services and Chaplain Manager for the Sexual Assault Response Team for the Methodist Healthcare System in San Antonio. At present he works as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Pastoral Counselor in San Antonio. The Association of Professional Chaplains has endorsed him as a Board Certified Chaplain. He is an FBI chaplain He is a certified member of the Association of Pastoral Counselors and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. Doctor Sammis is a Certified Perinatal Grief Counselor, a Certified PTSD Clinician and a Certified Field Traumatologist. He is presently an adjunct professor at St Mary?s University, San Antonio, Texas, teaching in the subject areas of Psychodrama and Trauma Theory. His journey in Psychodrama began in the late 70?s, culminating in his certification as a Trainer/Educator/Practitioner in 2004.
