For nearly 100 years, growing quietly alongside the psychological work of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung stands the work of Roberto Assagioli and Psychosynthesis. Psychosynthesis continues to be at the leading edge of spiritual development and personality integration. It is a singularly distinctive Western model of psychology that incorporates the spiritual dimension of human nature. Widely acknowledged as one of the most coherent and effective frameworks of transpersonal psychology, it integrates Western Analytic depth psychology and Eastern meditative height psychology into a comprehensive approach to human growth and development. Its hallmarks are a remarkable model of consciousness, concrete tools for developing and expanding awareness, tangible ways of working with the personality and a life long model for spiritual development.

Scott Thompson, M.Div., M.S., LMHC, works as a psychotherapist in private practice and director of a mental health training program in Manhattan. He has presented at local, national and international workshops and has spent his professional career integrating psychological and spiritual approaches to helping others. He serves as the Co-Chair for the Board of the Association for the Advancement of Psychosynthesis (AAP) and board member of The Association of Spirituality and Psychotherapy (ASP), a division of The Center for Spirituality and Psychotherapy of The National Institute for the Psychotherapies. He founded and directs Psychosynthesis Manhattan, which offers training to professionals and ongoing workshops for the public.
