Rebecca Walters, M.S., TEP, LCAT (Licensed Creative Arts Therapist), and LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) has utilized psychodrama and expressive arts therapy with individuals and groups of children, adolescents and adults since 1976. She has a master's degree in Expressive Arts Therapy from what is now Lesley Univeristy. She was trained in psychodrama by Peter Rowan, Bob and Jacquie Siroka, Eugene Eliasoph, Jonathan Fox and Peter Pitzele. She received the 2018 JL Moreno Award for Lifetime Achievement from the ASGPP.

Rebecca was a psychodramtist at Four Winds Psychiatric Hospital, NY from 1985-2011. She as the Director of Child and Adolescent Psychodrama Services where she ran six psychodrama groups a week including groups that focused on DBT Skills. She also supervised the psychodrama internship program at Four Winds. She has been on the faculty of Jerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College and was faculty at ICARE at MD Anderseon Cancer Center, University of Texas, Houston where she used action methods to teach communication skills to medical and supervisory staff. She is co author of articles on the use of action methods in medical education published in major medical journals and the author of an article on the use of fairytales in psychodrama with children.

In 1989, Rebecca, along with Judy Swallow, MA TEP, founded the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute in New Paltz, NY. HVPI offers professional training, supervision, on-site in-services, psychodrama services, and consultation to hospitals, substance abuse inpatient and outpatient programs, mental health programs, battered women's programs, schools and universities, human service agencies and industry. Rebecca has trained throughout the US and in Finland, Guatemala, Turkey, Greece, the UK, Sweden, Singapore and Italy.

HVPI offers five day psychodrama training intensives, two to three day skill building workshops and two year long, Core Training in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy programs. Core One meets October through April each year.
For one weekend each month.A second Core has been added which meets three times a year for six days to accommodate psychodrama students who live at a distance including a large international contingent. We have had students from all over the US, Central and South American, Canada, Europe and Asia.

In addition, Rebecca offers directing intensives for advanced students and certified psychodramatists as well as directing cohorts that meet three times over a twelve to eighteen month period.

Rebecca was an elected member of the Executive Council of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama, an organization in which she is a Fellow. Along with her co director of HVPI, Judy Swallow, Rebecca was a recipient of the 2005 Collaborator's Award from the American Society for Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama. She was the 2010 recipient of the ASGPP's Hannah Weiner Awared. She is certified as a Trainer, Educator and Practitioner by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy.
