I have been working with creative people all of my adult life as a K-12 music teacher; twenty plus years as an operatic stage director in Europe and USA; faculty member Temple University, Graduate Opera Department; and New School University, Mannes College of Music; Artist-In- Residence for the Metropolitan Opera Education Program Creating Original Opera working with children in diverse neighborhoods in NYC; Artistic Director of Ithaca Opera, Resident Director of the Wagner Opera Theater in NYC and more. In Philadelphia I had the privilege of working with older populations creating and performing scripted and original plays and narrations performed at locations in the city including the Painted Bride Arts Center.

A major juncture came while working for the Center for Intergenerational Learning at Temple University. I was a teacher of improvisation and facilitator for an intergenerational improvisational theater troupe performing about social issues and I encountered sociodrama and psychodrama. I discovered later that this troupe had been created 25 years earlier by Rosalie Minkin. I enthusiastically sought her out and have since benefited from her knowledge and awesome energy. This eventually led to my joining Nina Garcias training group then to a career change to social work and to my becoming a Certified Practitioner of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy and now a PAT.

As an LCSW I have worked as a therapist with children and families; people who have been domestically abused; and groups of men court mandated for charges of domestic violence. Today I work for Crozer Recovery Center in an outpatient setting with people who have addictions, co-occurring disorders and trauma and I have a small private practice focusing on veterans and trauma. I am an EMDR II certified therapist and interested in research about trauma and experiential therapies especially psychodrama.

I am always listening and watching for ways to co-create with spirit in service to healing the sacred hoop.
