My first experience in psychodrama began in 1999 during clinical supervision with Vickey Finger, LCSW, TEP in Flagstaff, Arizona. My primary trainer was Natalie Winters, Ed.D, TEP and secondary trainer was Jean Campbell, LCSW, CET III, CIPP, TEP. My private practice has been in Apex, NC since 2010.
Psychodrama for me was so enticing for me both personally and professionally. I saw how memories and information that I did not remember consciously was obtained through enactment, giving me clarity to see and make changes from a different vantage point. Psychodrama also allowed me to recognize that if I felt stuck, it was not permanent as I could access other roles within myself to help me find a new and different way out.
As a therapist, my focus is on the whole person: body, mind and spirit. I not only utilize psychodrama, but my primary work is to help a person’s central nervous system come into regulation somatically. I believe healing emerges organically from within each client and I follow his or her nervous system.
I have worked in an outpatient mental health facility, an inpatient medical hospital and now private practice. My areas of focus with clients involve challenges with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, grief, trauma, DID, PTSD, chronic pain, attachment and addictions. I facilitate psychodrama groups for both adolescents and adults.
