About me --
I received my Ph.D. from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in 1994, and have been licensed to practice Psychology since December, 1997. Since then, I have maintained a private practice upstate and worked in public and not-for-profit agencies devoted to caring for people with serious physical and emotional illnesses in NYC and the Hudson Valley.

I have worked with seniors and people living with HIV/AIDS, those with complex trauma histories, anxiety and mood disorders, and with juveniles and adults in the psychiatric and justice systems. I have also helped develop and evaluate services for these populations. In the community, I work with people who are seeking freedom from debilitating symptoms, looking to cope with lifes challenges, to repair relationships, and to improve the quality of their lives.

I am trained in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic-expressive schools of therapy and take an eclectic and individual approach in my work. I am also an actor and honed my most valuable therapeutic skills listening and reflecting, while working and training in Chicago and New York. I've recently completed certification requirements in Psychodrama after training at the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute since 2008, and have expanded my practice to give me more opportunities to integrate action methods in individual and group psychotherapy, and community-based support groups.
