Patrick Barone first experienced psychodrama in 2007. In 2014 he co-founded the Michigan Psychodrama Center with Dr. Elizabeth Corby, and together they offer workshops and provide training in the methods of Psychodrama, Sociometry, Sociodrama, Bibliodrama and organizational and group dynamics. Additionally, the Michigan Psychodrama Center provides workshops for therapeutic change, personal growth, professional and life role development, addiction support/recovery, spiritual exploration, business consulting and courtroom litigation.
In 2018 Patrick became a â€œCPâ€ when the American Board of Examiners Certified him as a Practitioner of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. Soon thereafter he reached the next level of certification, that of a Practitioner Applicant for Trainer (PAT). Patrick is the only Michigan lawyer so-certified by the American Board. He is currently a 2022 candidate to become Board Certified as a Trainer, Educator and Practitioner (TEP) of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. Patrickâ€™s psychodrama and sociometry training and certification informs his courtroom jury trial practice and has contributed to his teaching of law and trial skills. He also utilizes this training in his business consulting practice which includes leadership development and the exploration and improvement of group dynamics and performance in the workplace.
In his capacity as a business consultant, Patrick has worked with business owners and executives in businesses of all sizes throughout Michigan, including by way of example, TGI Direct, Movimento, AcuMax, A2 Energy Systems LLC, Spry Publishing, Compliance Training Partners/Drakeshire Dental, Booms Stone Co., The Hunter Group, LLC., Vistage Michigan, and with dozens of other businesses and executives.
Regarding Bibliodrama, Patrick has trained extensively with his friend Dr. Peter Pitzele, and currently leads Bibliodrama workshops designed to facilitate subject matter competency and to inspire personal and spiritual growth. He is also the author of a chapter entitled Bringing Scripture to Life with Bibliodrama for Adam Blatnerâ€™s book entitled Action Explorations: Using Psychodramatic Methods in Non-Therapeutic Settings, (Paralax Productions, February 23, 2019).
Patrick is an adjunct professor at the Western Michigan University/Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he teaches Drunk Driving Law and Practice, is on the faculty of the Michigan Trial Practice College, and is a graduate of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyerâ€™s College.
