I graduated from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology and a specialization in Creative Expression. I am passionate about using therapeutic approaches that engage body, heart, mind, and soul to support transformative change.
I work with a variety of clients with diverse needs, including high-risk youth, adults and youth dealing with trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, and substance use, with couples, and with families. I have a humanistic/transpersonal orientation. My work supports connection and amplification of the inner wise mind and personal strengths in support of taking important steps towards growth and healing. I am co-author, with Center for Living with Dying Director Janet Childs, of the book, Life, Death, and Transformation: Experiential Action Methods and Tools for Healing Grief and Trauma.
I have played many roles in life, including child-athlete, student, wife, seeker of truth and insight, mother, lab manager and biomedical science researcher, cellist, divorcee, lover, widow, and psychotherapist. These roles have greatly enhanced my capacity for compassionate presence with the human condition. I am consistently impressed by my client’s courage and ability to work on themselves, and feel priviledged to be a part of this amazing process."
I currently live in La Selva Beach, CA, happily remarried to my therapist husband.
