In the USA I provide consulting, counseling, and education through White Buffalo Associates, and in the UK I conduct personal and professional development training and facilitation, while also serving at the University of Edinburgh (UofE ) as an Honorary Fellow in Health in Social Science, co-facilitator of a Living and Dying conversation series at the Chaplaincy, member of the Compassionate University initiative, and member of the UK Charter for Compassion Task Force.
For UofE Summer School 2015, I taught two courses - one incorporating sociometry and psychodrama to explore myth and the hero's journey in personal and social transformation, and the other exploring personal and collective stories through enactment.
Claire Danielsson introduced me to psychodrama in 1979, when she facilitated two Omaha training workshops using psychodrama for community rites of passage and ancestral work. When I learned that John Nolte was offering regular training workshops in Omaha, I became an eager and active student for many years - learning an immense amount from him.
Starting in the 1990s I also enjoyed training extensively with Ann Hale and Donna Little. During the 2000s Donna became primary trainer for my TEP, and Ann was my secondary trainer. I am grateful for their wise and skilled guidance.
In the 1980s, I used sociometry and psychodrama in role training for personal injury claims representatives at the Union Pacific Railroad. During the 1990s, Deb Shaddy and I co-facilitated psychodrama workshops in Omaha and also integrated sociometry and other action methods into our retreat and feminist spirituality work. I provided introductory psychodrama classes for the social work masters program at a local university and facilitated an introductory sociodrama workshop for one of the national Spirituality and Social Work Conferences.
In the 1990s I worked with Augusto Boal and Doug Paterson to learn basic elements in Theater of the Oppressed, trained in Family Reconstruction with Bill and Ann Nerin, and took the Core Training in Playback Theater with Jo Salas. Through Donna Little in North America and Alun Reynolds in the UK, I also gained basic exposure to Family Constellation work.
In 1986, I began in-depth training in shamanism and shamanic healing through the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. Starting in the 1990s I also started working with Jean Houston in her Mystery School, School for Social Artistry, Initiation of the Sage, and Women Mystics programs.
I moved to Scotland in 2001 to pursue a PhD (2005). There I began working as Associate Chaplain at the UofE and served a three-year term on the ABE. In 2006 I became a certified Cultural Transformation Tools (CTT) consultant through the Barrett Values Center, using values assessments to facilitate personal values alignment, in addition to values alignment within teams, organizations, and communities.
In 2014 I started facilitating the IONS (Institute of Noetic Sciences) Conscious Aging Program, and in the spring of 2015 began facilitating 'Death Makes Life Possible' (DMLP) pilot programs to support a DMLP film co-created by Marilyn Schlitz and Deepak Chopra.
