Linda Ciotola is a Certified TEP. Her training workshops for mental health professionals are approved for CEU's by the Maryland Board of Social Worker Examiners. Credit in training toward certification by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama is also offered. She is a Certified Trainer in the Therapeutic Spiral Model tm of Psychodrama (a model specifically modified for work with trauma survivors); Certified Health Education Specialist (Ret); Certified Yoga and Fitness Instructor and Certified Health Coach and Certified Mindbody Specialist with 45 years of experience as an educator, and workshop facilitator. Linda specializes in work with those suffering with eating disorders and trauma , using her expertise in psychodrama, creative arts modalities, and yoga , fitness, and nutrition for a wholistic approach which addresses bodymindheartspirit healing.Linda has presented widely at national and regional conferences such as the International Psychodrama Conference (ASGPP) , The DramaTherapy Conference , The U.S. BodyPsychotherapy Conference , and The Renfrew Conference for Eating Disorders. She is known for both her individual and group work and for bringing her skills as an experienced educator to her role as a trainer. Her collaboration with Nancy Alexander, LCSW-C created individualized treatment plans for clients suffering with complex trauma histories. These included, but were not limited to, other creative and expressive arts therapies, hypnotherapy, bodypsychotherapy, and psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and others. This collaboration is detailed in an article entitled Teamwork and Trauma Recovery in the Journal of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy Vol. 62 (1) 91-104. Nancy and Linda are currently collaborating on a webinar series to provide orientation to psychodrama (www.ac-ts.com). She has co-authored with Karen Carnabucci, LCSW, TEP a book entitled Healing Eating Disorders with Psychodrama and Action Methods - Beyond the Silence and the Fury published by Jessica Kingsley 2013 which contains several interventions designed to create body empathy when the body has become the battleground for unhealed trauma; and for identifying the connection between food, feelings, and relationships. She offers training workshops as well as consultations by Skype or phone to advise other professionals. She is the 2008 recipient of the Zerka Moreno Award, and a Fellow of the ASGPP.
