Mario Cossa is a psychodramatist, Drama Therapist/Master Teacher, and Theatre Educator who specializes in work with adolescent groups and trauma survivors. He also has an Australian Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. His book: REBELS WITH A CAUSE - Working with Adolescents Using Action Techniques (Jessica Kingsley Press - 2006) has received international acclaim. Mario has conducted workshops and trainings and has presented at national and international conferences throughout the USA, Canada, the UK, South Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Mario's primary trainer in psychodrama was Zerka Moreno, wife of the creator of Psychodrama and recognized around the globe as a leader in the field. He is also an accredited Trainer in the Therapeutic Spiral Model for the safe utilization of psychodrama with trauma survivors. In 1989 Mario created ACTINGOUT and directed this program through June of 2003. The program combined expressive arts group therapy with training and performance opportunities in issue-oriented theatre. ACTINGOUT was known for its unique brand of audience-interactive, improvisational theatre focusing on contemporary issues like substance abuse, violence prevention, and HIV. Mario is also a trainer in a number of science-based prevention curricula including Violence Prevention, Substance Abuse Prevention, and HIV Prevention and is a Master Trainer for the Safe School Ambassadors Program, a nationally acclaimed school-based program of Community Matters, Inc. in California. Mario is recognized by his peers as a leader in the field of psychodrama and sociodrama with adolescents.

Mario is also the creator and developer of Drago-Drama, an archetypal form of sociodrama/psychodrama for exploring personal dragons and the treasures that they guard. He has presented this work at numerous conferences around the world and has, with collaborators, developed an original musical WHAT THE DRAGON STOLE based on the Drago-Drama theme.

Additionally Mario has over 40 years experience as a theatre director, actor, and choreographer. He has worked with youth and adults in comedy, drama, and musical theatre productions and has also been a teacher of clowning and circus arts.

Mario has recently become involved in developing training programs for organizations focused on role analysis, as well as trainings in cultural competency for human service providers.

Mario currently resides in Bali, Indonesia most of the year where he is developing a Psycodrama training and practioner practice: Motivational Arts Unlimited.
